299-FGE-PW Pewter Finish Pierced Design Gas & Electric Newel Post Light Circa 1890
Made by Gibson Gas Fixture Works circa 1890, as a gas/electric combo fixture with lovely work and fine Lost Wax castings. Our authentic reproduction is unlacquered solid brass, which will age to a nice patina over time.
Shades are sold separately. This newel post light takes one gas shade with 4" fitter, and one electric shade with a 2 ¼" fitter. We picture 053G and 054G as suggestions, but offer many of our glass shades in both sizes, just for transitional lighting. If you love the fixture as it is pictured, we have included an option to purchase this light with the pictured shades in the menu above.
These lights were usually controlled by a wall switch. An On/Off rotary switch can be custom installed on the base of this light for an extra $25. Please click the "Yes" option in the "Add Switch?" menu above to add this option to your shopping cart..
We have several pierced brass lights to complement this design, including our transitional chandelier 518-FGE-CH. A charming double sconce is 514-DFE-ES. For rooms with standard lower ceilings, we have close ceiling light 458-OCC-FC. Coordinate your glass shades for an original "suite" effect.
This light has been wired to UL standards, with two sockets up to 100 watts incandescent.
