Markel Chandelier with brown and cream color painted shades.
This series of Art Deco lights was made by Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, NY, Circa 1936, (another key year in the height of the slip shade lighting era).
Every light and shade here has been molded from an original Art Deco antique. Lost Wax Cast, solid brass- no junk metal here. Antiqued with highlights of brass and lacquered. Each socket capable of 100 watts.
While this light only has five sockets, it comes with a center shade in the middle of the fixture, to allow more light to come through the center. The center shade adds a very nice decorative accent. We also offer the chandelier without the bottom shade .
Matching brown & cream painted wall sconces , and the option of choosing amber or frosted shades are also available. If you need replacement shades for an original antique Markel chandelier or sconce, click here . The amber looks similar to the painted shades in the photos, but the painted shade are more opaque, white and brown. True to the originals, they give a warm cast to skin tones and the room.
Diameter with shades is 18". Height of 33 1/2" but can be shortened by as much as 10 1/2" to 23" in length by removing chain links. Ceiling canopies-- 5" diameter.
