ZV-893DK Glass Shade Adapter 2 1/4" Fitter Up to 3 1/4" Fitter

As styles change & tastes change, we like different shades on ourlamps and fixtures. Many of the older lights and lamps have smallfitter rings for 2 1/4" glass shades. This product allows you to use a 3 1/4" fitter shade on that old fixture!

This adapter is made extra strong by casting it from solid brass(not stamped), so the strength & reliability are undeniable. Wealso gave this adapter four fitter screws instead of the normal threefor increased stability and a more even mounting. After casting theseadapters, they are lathe-turned to our exact specifications beforefinishing with our hand-applied darkened "antique" patina.

Cautions and concerns when using adapters: 1. Is your 2 1/4" fitter andlamp stem strong enough to take a larger shade? 2. If the proposedshade is enclosed, will heat be able to escape? You may need to ventheat off an incandescent bulb. 3. This adapter is not recommended whenthe metal socket has a clamp-on fitter, as the extra weight of a largershade might pull it apart. 4. Sometimes using an adapter makes the bulbtoo deep in the shade. We offer socket extenders for only $3.95, and they may be stacked to put the bulb into the "best light" position in your new shade.

For adapting a 2 1/4" fitter to 4", please see our part number ZV-894DK .

Outside dimensions 3 1/2". Inside diameter 3 5/16". Overall height 15/16", & 3/8" of that disappears into your 2 1/4" fitter, leaving only 1/2" visible. Center hole for socket is 1 3/4". Fitter threads are 8/32".
