Victorian Gasolier Recreated Ceiling Light (758-GDK-PD)

758-GDK-PD  Victorian Gaslight "T" Ceiling Light

Recreation of an old Victorian “gasolier” light.  While we do make some rather outstanding fancy lights, sometimes a design is so endearing to us that we just want to see it again.

This is the case with this “T" light.  Originally made from “about" 1820 to around 1880, it had its heyday Circa 1840-60.  It could be found in general stores, lodges, restaurants, schools and many other places that wanted functional lighting without the cost of fancy chandeliers.  The “T" light spread out the meager gas light so more area could be covered.  Made with different designs, by many different manufacturers, it was an ubiquitous fixture throughout the early Victorian era.  We stayed close to the ORIGINAL materials and finishes.  While the functional parts are all solid brass.....they are NOT polished.  They are satin brass.  The grey tapered cones are steel (most times were tin) and are made, by hand, by our tinsmith.  All the finishes you see are original and this is the only finish available.

Measurements:  With our 0175G crowns shades as shown, (sold separately) it measures 52" wide.  The fitters are 4", so any 4" fittered shade will do.  Height can be adjusted but we supply it with the initial height being 53".  It can be shortened to as little as 27" by reducing the top section of brass rod without reduction of the steel taper.
