Very Scarce Iconic Period Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces (ANT-1177)

ANT-1177  Very Scarce “Iconic” Period Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces

Being reluctant to use the word “rare” since it is way over-used in the antique business, let’s just say that these sconces are very scarce indeed.

Made in Circa 1930-5. Attribution has not been established. We do have both a chandelier and a display sconce, like this, in our slip shade museum and these are being cut-loose at this unusual time. Made in very limited numbers, this pair of sconces are very un-common indeed. Courtesy of “Kelly Art Deco Lighting Museum”.

The frames are so very iconic of the deco era, that there is not doubt about the theme.  The backplate shape is so very recognized to the Deco era and the reticulated shade holders are so hard to cast as any good foundry man will explain. The finish is antique pewter with high and low accents. The shades are a delicate muted amber and with lovely embossed designs.

Electrical: These unusual sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. New normal chandelier base sockets for chandelier bulbs have been installed in each sconce along with a new rotary switch matching the original kind.

We chose an LED tube bulb to light these sconces....it is readily available..and the first bulbs will come complete with the sconces so you can hang and light these fine antiques in a good time frame.

The sconces mount with one normal mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box. All mounting hardware will be supplied.

Measurements: The sconces are 10 1/2” tall. The width is 4 1/2”. Projects into a room, from the wall, 5 1/2”.

Price: For the complete pair of “scarce” iconic sconces: $1,350.00...plus careful packaging and shipping.
