ANT-831  Art Deco 2-Shade Pendant by Markel

Antique Art Deco slip shade two-shade pendant by Markel.  This light, circa 1935, was part of their "8800 Series".  This particular chandelier was Model 8812.  Their 1930s catalog says it has a spread of 15" by 6" width...no length was specified, which can be assumed to be an option.

Markel was one of the biggest companies working in the Great Depression, and had locations in America, Canada, and Australia.  They made a lot of the antique slip shade fixtures in antique shops today, and were a quality company.

The red bronze finish, while being cleaned up a mite, is original and simply beautiful to the max. You cannot find a much better antique red bronze finish slip shade chandelier than this one. Wonderful condition.

The shades are simply a treat, and in remarkable condition.  Probably made by Consolidated Glass or another quality glass house.

• Spread:  Widths are approximately to the original specs of 15" x 6", as stated by Markel's catalog.
• Height:  21"
