ANT-876  Art Deco 6 Shade Chandelier by Markel...Series 8800

Antique Art Deco Slip Shade 6 Shade Chandelier by Markel.  This light, circa 1935, was part of their "8800 Series".  This chandelier was Model 8836 which was top of the line for this 8800 Series.  Their 1930s catalog says it has a spread of 20".

Markel was one of the biggest companies working in the Great Depression, and had locations in America, Canada, and Australia.  They made a lot of the antique slip shade fixtures in antique shops today, and were a quality company.

The red bronze finish, while being cleaned up a mite, is original and simply beautiful to the max.  You cannot find a much better antique red bronze finish slip shade chandelier than this one.  Wonderful condition.

The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition.  Probably made by Consolidated Glass, or another quality glass house.
