600-QJX-GE  Combination gas and electric fixtures were made at the turn of the century, and for as long as 20+ years thereafter.  Electrical supplies were not always reliable in every location of America at this time.

There were two main types of "up" gas fixture.  One was a simple candletube, and the other was a wide flame burner surrounded by a glass shade as seen here (4" fitter).

Glass "up" shades are sold separately.  Fixture uses 4" fitter shades for the "up" lights.  We picture 082G as a suggestion, but offer many styles from which to choose.

Fixture comes with bottom butterscotch glass shades (as shown), though green, or white glass is also available.  Use the "Options" menu above for ordering the various glass colors.

  • Height:  Supplied 44" tall, but can be shortened to as much as 29" by trimming the tube.
  • Spread:  25".
  • Canopy Size:  4 ½" x 4 ½"; 3" deep.

Extension kits for longer drops and vaulted ceiling kits are available.

  • Art Glass Shades:  An upper limit of 60-75 watts incandescent is recommended to protect the art glass from excess heat.  Using cooler operating CF or LED bulbs for these shades can result in brighter light, while using less wattage.
  • "Up" Sockets:  Rated for 100 watts each.
  • 8 sockets, up to 700 watts total recommended, which should light any average size living, dining, or great room.
