236-ES-DK  Fine Recreation of a 1933 Lightolier Luxart Wall Sconce Antique Brass Finish

236-ES-NP  Fine Recreation of a 1933 Lightolier Luxart Wall Sconce Nickel Plated

This sconce was shown in a 1933 Lightolier catalog for Builders, Architects and Decorators.  The catalog shows this sconce being installed in the finest shopping establishments.  It came from the series that Lightolier called "Luxart".  This sconce was stock numbered 4023, and cost $11.85 in 1933.  This while Markel sconces were selling for about a buck plus.  $11.85, in the height of the Depression, was a bit of money.

The frame is solid brass/bronze, and comes in an antique finish.  It contains one medium base socket, just like the original.  This could be modified if desired.

Measurements:

  • Height:  14"
  • Width:  5 ½"
  • Projection:  3 ½" from the wall into the room.
    • With this minimum projection, this sconce could also be used for ADA compliance installations.

The light fastens directly to a UL approved electrical box with a center finial that's behind the shade.  All mounting supplies will be furnished.

Sconce is sold by each, complete with its off-white original color & style shade.
