ANT-1069  Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier with Amber Etched Glass Center Panels

Fantastic Art Deco 1930s chandelier. A very unusual light. It came from the same home with a similar chandelier. It is a 6 light fixture. Five of the lights are on the outside on the arms, in the gorgeous amber shades, and one is in the center behind the fine--etched amber glass--center panels.

The metal for this chandelier is the original antique old gold finish with just a touch..very slight..of reddish color to remind you of a quality bronze finish.

This chandelier has been re-wired in our UL lamp shop with new sockets and wire to UL standards. All standard medium base sockets.

Each new socket can easily take a 100 watt bulb giving a total of 600 watts of light if so desired. Of course, LED bulbs are neat too. The body of the chandelier once had an off/on switch. We left the antique switch in place, to maintain the original look, but cut off it’s function since it is too old to be used.

The five etched glass center panels are wonderful. They slip in from the top and I am pleased to say that they are in near mint condition with very minor age flaws that are really NOT that noticeable. They are very specific as to which slot they go into...being a hand made product...and we will label them to hopefully prevent mistakes or frustration.

The shades, for each of the arms, while being lovely embossed amber, are also in outstanding condition with only the most minor of roughness. The metal of the chandelier is mostly, cast iron and other mixed metals but all finished to the same effect.

Etched amber glass center panels...amber embossed shades...nice metal work....results in a very unusual and striking fixture.

The color of the center panels is not quite identical to the shades. This is pretty standard but needs to be mentioned. When we have had these fixtures before, sometimes the center panels were simply frosted.
