ANT-1196  Art Deco 6 Shade Chandelier by Markel....Series 8800

Truly a nice and a bit unusual chandelier. Antique Art Deco Slip Shade 6 shade Chandelier by Markel. This chandelier, Circa 1935, was part of Markel’s "8800 series". This chandelier was Model 8836 which was top of the line for this 8800 series. Their 1930's catalog says it has a spread of 20". 

Markel was one of the biggest companies working in the Great Depression and had locations in America and Canada and Australia. They made a lot of the antique slip shade fixtures that are sometimes found in the antique shops today. They were a quality company.

Red Bronze finish over a cast iron cast body. The finish has been cleaned up “a mite“, and is simply beautiful to the max.

Wonderful condition. The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition.  Probably made by Consolidated Glass or another quality glass house. We re-wired this neat chandelier in our UL shop and it was simply neat to work with a nice chandelier like this one.

Measurements: As stated by the original catalog: Diameter is 20” with a hang height of 29” which could be lengthen ...if...a longer hang height is desired.
