ANT-1223  Eight (4 Pairs) of Crystal Bead Sconces--Sold Per Pair

Probably French or French influence, these eight sconces are nearly perfectly matching with subtle differences. Not too old but they NOW have had major UL elaborations to make them both UL safe and American standard.

These sconces are solid brass with an antique finish which is original. The sconces NOW have a polished interior metal backing, with a created UL designated universal crossbar, so the reflection of the bulb is a bit magnified which is nice thru the crystals. The US-style crossbar has been cut into the reflective backplate for safety and ease of mounting.

Originally, there was simply a bar at the back to hang the sconce on a nail...but this was not UL compliant since then the bulb would have been directly against the wall creating a fire hazard. That original bar would not have connected to an American junction box or protected the wall.

If buying foreign lighting, it is best to make sure that these important, but expensive, changes have been made: 1) protective reflective backplate 2) UL crossbar mounting...and..for looks 3) balanced socket lighting.

We also removed the SINGLE foreign socket and replaced it with TWO American bakelite chandelier sockets which allows the light to be balanced and give a more balanced appearance.  

Measurements: Each sconce is 9” tall by 9” wide. They project into a room a mere 5”.

These lights have all been re-constructed & re-wired in our UL shop and are ready for installation.
