ANT-1465  Pair of Nice Long Slip Shade Art Deco Sconces by Markel

Markel Electric Products of Buffalo, NY made this series of Art Deco lights circa 1936 (a key year in the height of the slip shade lighting era).

This series was called the 9000 series as Markel rarely used names to describe their products. This was the only sconce made, using this shade, for this popular series and its design did change to this iconic look.

These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were made from cast iron with various finishes. This finish was called “Natural Bronze” by Markel in their catalog and is a rather red-bronze appearance.

The amber shades are simply in fantastic condition.

Measurements: 10 1/2" tall with a width of 5 3/4", they project into a room (from the wall) a mere 5 1/4”.

These sconces have been completely re-wired in our licensed UL shop with new medium-base sockets and all new wiring. We have also replaced the rotary switches.

Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice.
