ANT-1471  Set Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier and Matching Sconces by Lincoln Mnf.

Lincoln called this set “The Nile Group” and they are circa 1935.

This is an original antique low-ceiling 5-shade chandelier with the matching pair of sconces. Lovely, deeply carved look amber matching shades that have been fully re-wired in our UL shop to be code compliant and UL approved. They all have normal medium base sockets, one for each shade.

The deeply carved shades are gold-amber and in good, remarkable, condition for their age. There was a padding used between the shade and frame. We are guessing that it was to cushion the shade against chips and/or shock and slightly different cast metal sizing. We have renewed this padding since it was pretty thin and missing in some places. It is invisible, but we’re mentioning it.

Lincoln was an aluminum foundry that only offered a couple of finishes for their fixtures. One was a self-colored pewter finish with neat old-gold accents...as this set fixture demonstrates.

The casting technique to cast reticulated panels needs to be great. The reticulated chandelier panels and sconce back plates requires these good casting skills. Even Sears sold this fixture and it can be found in the Sears lighting catalogs of the times.

This close ceiling chandelier, and the matching sconces, will be supplied with all the necessary mounting hardware.

Chandelier Measurements:  The overall chandelier height is 21”. Maximum width is 19 1/2”.

Sconce Measurements: The overall sconce height is 11 1/2”. Maximum width is 5 1/2” with the projection from the wall of 6”.
